WHAT IS TRUE TONE ON AN IPHONE?

Do you that iPhone X has a feature called True Tone? Some people are confused with the True Tone and the Night Shift. This True Tone feature is only available for iPhone 8 and the latter generations. So True Tone is where your phone adjusts its brightness and colours depending on your surroundings. That means if you are outside under the bright Sun your phone will reduce the contrast of your phone and it will display the sufficient amount of light so it reflects to your eyes with the right brightness for a better display. This feature cannot be done if there is no sensor that detects your environmental lighting.

FIRST MODEL TO INTRODUCE TRUE TONE

This feature is first introduced on the 9.7 inch iPad Pro in 2016. With this true tone you will have a warmer, soothing colours, the right illumination from your phone screen that it will not ache your eyes. True tone is always which the colour displays are as natural as you look with your naked eye and it brings the display as accurate as you see it, not from the excessive light that is usually for a brighter display. This can actually be explain with the amount of whites in a display that is reduced to have a much real experience of a display.

BENEFITS OF TRUE TONE

The name speaks for itself and we would definitely recommend you to turn it on as it adapts to your surrounding for a much truer and eye-ease colour and display. For some people, you can have this turned off for your personal preference, like you need to increase your brightness for a static operation that acquires brightness to see the details of your photos and videos. Now let’s talk about the other feature which is also quite similar to this True Tone feature which is the Night Shift mode. This is which you can use it for a late night reading.

HOW TRUE TONE DIFFERS FROM NIGHT SHIFT?

This Night Shift mode will reduce the amount of blue light emitted from your screen that could damage your eyesight and stimulates your brain to keep you awake at night and just negative effects mostly. For iPhone 8 and latter models, you can find your True Tone located under Settings, tap on Display & Brightness, and there you can see True Tone. You can easily access your True Tone using 3D Touch on your Control Centre, by tap and press firm on the Brightness icon, and you will have two dim icons located at the bottom of the screen.
