Smartphone are most prune to water damage. Water can easily damage the internal circuit of a smartphone because water and electricity does not work well together. Problems related with water damage can be tricky and needs to be examined with extra care. Most of water damaged cases need at least 2 – 3 days to be fully inspected and repaired.
A customer came to our shop with her iPhone that has some problems. She recently dropped her iPhone into water and the iPhone has some problems ever since the incident. Some part of the screen was not responding to any touches, the home button was not working and the battery life cycle was 68 %. Our technician examined her iPhone and found out that there was nothing else that was malfunctioning. We replaced the screen’s back light and the battery. We suggested her to replace her battery with YooBao battery. YooBao battery has upgraded battery capacity but still the same physical size. We performed chemical wash on the iPhone to eliminate any presence of water and the home button was working afterwards. She was really glad that her iPhone was working just fine and thanked us for a good service.

Mr Wong came to our shop with his iPhone X that has recently dropped into water. Since dropping his iPhone into water, he hasn’t able to turn on his iPhone again. Water damage can lead to motherboard issues or parts damaged. iPhone internal can be replaced in short amount of time and cheap. But if it is a motherboard issue, then it will take some time and be more expensive. As per our standard operating procedure, all water damaged device will cleaned with chemical substance. This chemical substance will eliminate any presence of water hence making our inspection even more accurate. Lucky for him, his iPhone was able to be turn on after the chemical wash. Unfortunately he has some internal damages cause by water. His screen was totally unresponsive and his cellular antenna was not working correctly. We advised him to replace his screen and cellular antenna. He agreed to it and we completed the replacement in 25 minutes. Mr Harun came to our shop with his iPhone SE that has been recently dropped in a pool. He told us that he cannot turn on his iPhone after dropping his into the pool. The best thing to do if a phone is dropped into water, turn it off and get the internal parts dried. Our technician inspected his iPhone and decided to wash the motherboard with chemical substance. The chemical substance will remove any presence of water and allows our technician to inspect the motherboard even better. After cleaning his motherboard with chemical substance, we found out that his screen has been damaged. We advised him to replace the screen and he agreed to it. We completed the screen replacement within 15 minutes. He was really happy to see his iPhone is able to be used again. Mr Jeffri came to our shop with his iPhone 6s Plus that has been recently dropped into water. Our technician washed his iPhone’s motherboard with chemical substance. The chemical substance will eliminate any presence of water and allows our technician to inspect even better. After washing his motherboard, our technician found out that the charging port and battery was damaged. We advised him to replace both of it and he agreed to it. We completed the charging port and battery replacement within 20 minutes. He was lucky that his iPhone did not have any damages to the motherboard because of the water. Any damages to the motherboard will be more costly compared to changing the parts. He was glad that he could save his money and see his iPhone back to life again. Ms Dilla came to our shop with her iPhone X that cannot be turned on. She said that her iPhone started to have this problem since she dropped her iPhone into a pool. At first, her iPhone was able to turn on normally. On the same night, her iPhone went pitch black and would not turn on. She immediately contacted us and made an appointment with our technician. She came as per scheduled and our technician inspected her iPhone right away. Our technician washed her iPhone’s motherboard with chemical substance. This chemical substance will eliminate any presence of water. Unfortunately. her iPhone still cannot be turn on after the chemical wash. We were worried that her motherboard might already be damaged by water. We inspected her motherboard and found out that it was a motherboard issue. There is a IC on the motherboard is short-circuited. We need 1-3 days to repair a motherboard as it is a very delicate procedure. We contacted her the next day and asked her to come pick up her iPhone. She was really glad to see her iPhone is able to be turn on. She also thanked us for saving her data on her iPhone. The data on the iPhone has an 50% chance of survival if it is damaged, she was just lucky to have her data back.
